Welcome to My First Post

I've been thinking about starting this for a while now and I've finally gotten around to it. This will be a place mostly to talk about and share my love of needlework. I'm sure, occasionally a few of my other loves will show up too (such as my family, dogs, photography etc). I have been doing needlework for about 33 years. My grandmother taught me with a little embroidered doily and I've been doing some kind of needlework on and off ever since. Sometimes there have been longer lulls in putting my stitching away and getting it back out, but something always draws me back.

I will say right up front that I am not a fast stitcher. I do keep a rotation going, but it takes me what seems like forever to finish a piece. If anybody else out there is like me, take comfort that even if you just do a strand a day or even a strand a week you will eventually get there. Just remember it's not a race, it's for your enjoyment. So come sit by me.

This is my Beatrix Potter that I'm working on. I'm stitching it on Vikki Clayton Hand dyed linen in Kodiak and using Vikki's silk HDF in Fishpeppers. It's a fun piece to do. I really love working with silks and hand dyed linens.

Ok I guess that's enough for my first post. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more pics and more news.
